Chemodiversity Laboratory
Chemodiversity laboratory (coming in early 2012)
The Chemodiversity Laboratory will serve the USF Drug Discovery Community by supplying samples for screening. The USF Natural Products Library will comprise 96- or 384-well formatted plates containing either pure natural products or prefractionated natural product extracts, depending on the needs of the researcher. The Chemodiversity Laboratory will have access to outside collections as well, including the National Cancer Institute’s collection of natural products and extracts and any number of commercial natural products sources. Personnel within the Chemodiversity lab will be available to assist researchers in selecting appropriate sampling sets.
The Chemodiversity Laboratory will also have resources for medicinal chemistry and other synthetic organic chemistry activities. The lab will be able to assist with hit-expansion medicinal chemistry, supply of difficult to obtain lead molecules, and/or labeling and tagging of receptor ligands.
